The Regional Agency for Environmental Protection and Energy in Emilia-Romagna (Arpae) is a technical body to the Regional Government. Arpae is a public institution that gives support to regional and local Authorities on environmental policy through monitoring and modelling the environmental components, surveillance of the environmental impacts of human activities, assessment of the environmental impacts of plans and projects, management of the regional environmental information system and research development on environmental protection.
The Hydro-Meteo-Climate Service of Arpae carries out operational activities and research in meteorology, climatology, hydrology, agrometeorology, radar meteorology, environmental meteorology and remote sensing.
